SteelFlow
Fictional industrial ERP run like a real enterprise programme: event-driven Spring Boot microservices, a Next.js frontend and a GitOps repository.

A platform engineering lab: three microservices and an in-house starter of six modules (transactional outbox, Debezium CDC, idempotent inbox, demonstrated by runbook), a hand-written OIDC BFF (PKCE, JWE session, `__Host-` cookies), a fully containerised development environment (PostgreSQL, Kafka, Keycloak, observability). The sister GitOps repository describes the desired state of each environment: Argo CD app-of-apps, Kyverno policies in Enforce mode, cosign-signed images, Keycloak fully as code.
The problem
Learn, on a realistic case, what an enterprise-grade distributed system demands: consistency across services, session security, continuous delivery and machine-checked compliance.
My role
Personal project: specification, architecture, development and governance (eleven ADRs, Conventional Commits, Renovate, gitleaks).
Period
Juillet – août 2026
Technical decisions
- Transactional outbox to Debezium then idempotent inbox: no lost or duplicated events, demonstrated by a runbook.
- In-house OIDC BFF and an end-to-end Playwright test proving that no token ever reaches the browser.
- ArchUnit fails the build on any hexagonal architecture violation; integration tests on Testcontainers (PostgreSQL, Kafka, Keycloak), never on H2.
Outcome
Local platform up in under five minutes with `make dev-up`, onboarding in under a day, and a GitOps repository ready for Kubernetes.
