Gestion Hôpital
Hospital information system built solo during an internship: patients, consultations, admissions, laboratory, billing and reporting.

- Django
- Python
- PostgreSQL
Django application built over a five-month internship at a medical centre in Bobo-Dioulasso. The full patient journey: reception and tickets, consultations and prescriptions, admissions, laboratory test requests, cash collection with cash sessions and numbered receipts, an analytics dashboard, PDF and Excel exports.
The problem
The centre tracked patients, cash and laboratory work in separate registers: double entry, unpaid bills that were hard to follow, and no overview for management.
My role
Sole developer, from gathering needs with the staff to going live, during the end-of-degree internship.
Period
Août – novembre 2025
Technical decisions
- Modular architecture in Django apps (patients, billing, laboratory, accounts): thirty-nine models and one hundred and sixty-eight routes.
- Polymorphic billing: every act, product, test or ticket becomes a billable item (GenericForeignKey) kept up to date through signals.
- Custom access control: seven roles and forty-eight granular permissions, adjustable per user.
- Cash sessions, numbered receipts, QR-coded tickets, PDF and Excel exports for accounting.
Outcome
Eighty-four commits over the internship, an application used by the centre's staff, and an internship passed with distinction.
